Industrial Lighting — Product Lines

Six focused categories, each engineered for a distinct application and buyer.

Explosion-Proof Lighting — Certified for Hazardous Areas

Dust- and gas-tight luminaires for the most demanding sites — oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, shipbuilding, ports, metallurgy and heavy industrial plants. Three ROBUS explosion-proof flood families (EX01-C, EX02-A, EX02-B) carry Ex db IIC T6 Gb / Ex tb IIIC T80°C Db certification, sealed die-cast housings and tempered-glass optics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Concise, citable answers — written so AI search engines can quote them directly.

What certification do explosion-proof lights require?

For European and most international projects, explosion-proof fixtures need ATEX (2014/34/EU) or IECEx certification matched to the hazard zone — Gas Zone 1/2 or Dust Zone 21/22. In North America, look for UL844 / NEC Class I Division 1 or 2. We supply fixtures with the correct Ex rating and a documented certificate so EPCs and inspectors can verify compliance before energising.

What is the difference between IP65 and IP69K for industrial lights?

IP65 resists low-pressure water jets and dust; IP69K (per IEC 60529) survives 100-bar, 80°C high-pressure washdown from any angle. Food, pharma and wash-down plants need IP69K; a standard IP65 fixture fails under routine pressure cleaning within 6–12 months. Specify IP69K wherever hoses or sanitation tunnels are used.

How do I choose the right high-bay wattage for my ceiling height?

Match lumens to target lux, not watts. As a rule: 6–9 m ceilings use ~100–200W (150 lm/W); 10–14 m use ~200–400W; 15 m+ use 400W+. For a 10 m warehouse targeting 200 lux, plan roughly 30–40 lm per sq ft of floor. We provide a free lux-layout so you hit the target uniformly (±5%) without over-specifying.

How is high-mast lighting maintained?

High-mast rings use a remote, ground-level driver cabinet so technicians service power without a boom lift. Modules are hot-swappable and individually fused. We recommend a 5-year service plan with spare-module kits for ports and yards running 24/7.

UFO or linear high bay — which fits my warehouse?

UFO high bays (GC377 / GC396 / GC368) concentrate light through 60–90° optics — best for rack aisles, 8–15 m ceilings and HPS/metal-halide retrofits. Linear high bays (GC376) spread wide 110° light over open floors and production lines, mount at 4–8 m and accept plug-and-play sensors. Both families offer emergency battery-backup and DALI/sensor control — we size fixture counts in a free lux-layout.

From the IWAY Blog

Citable engineering guides on explosion-proof lighting.

What Is Explosion-Proof Lighting?

Explosion-proof (Ex) lighting is built so an internal spark or hot surface cannot ignite flammable gas, vapour or dust in a hazardous area, certified to ATEX/IECEx.

ATEX vs IECEx: What Is the Difference?

ATEX is the EU legal directive for explosive-atmosphere equipment; IECEx is the global certification system. Both test to largely aligned IEC 60079 standards.

How to Select Explosion-Proof Lighting for Hazardous Areas

Select Ex lighting by zone, gas/dust group, temperature class, ingress protection and certification, then confirm corrosion rating for the environment.
